At Rice Memorial High School we value the important role that athletics plays in contributing to a Catholic, college-preparatory education as an intricate part of the Knights' mission to maximize the God-given potential of all student athletes. As a member of the Vermont Principals’ Association (VPA), Rice offers 16 varsity sports and 13 other teams across three seasons. We understand and appreciate the importance of athletics in the overall education of student-athletes. Athletic experiences teach values such as hard work, commitment, leadership, discipline, teamwork, and physical fitness, all within a framework that emphasizes sportsmanship and academic achievement.
Rice Memorial has a tradition of successful athletic programs, and winning is a natural goal. It is our mission as an athletic department to provide each student at Rice with multiple opportunities for athletic participation and we encourage students to participate in multiple sports whenever possible. Through this, we hope to provide to all of our student-athletes a wholesome and well-rounded experience that will aid in their lifetime character development. We expect our student-athletes, coaches, and parents involved to be responsible in all interactions and to win with humility, lose graciously, and, more importantly, to be great ambassadors of our school.
