  • What is the Rice-Cathedral Fund?

Tuition at Rice Memorial High School does not cover the total cost to educate a student.

Like all private schools and colleges, tuition does not cover the total cost to educate each student. To keep Rice affordable, we discount tuition by 30 percent for all students. The Rice-Cathedral Fund helps close this funding gap and supports every aspect of the Rice experience. Every year, our generous donors helop us bridge the tuition gap by giving to the annual appeal.

  • Why is the Rice-Cathedral Fund important?

Funds raised in our annual appeal support our general operating budget and enhance programming. This year's appeal goal is $625,000.

The Rice-Cathedral Fund is fundamental to:
    • Tuition assitance for over 40 percent of our students
    • Salaries and professional development for our talented faculty and staff
    • Classroom resources and equipment
    • Arts and athletics programming, plus the 90 year tradition of Stunt Nite
    • Care and keeping of our facilities
  • How do I give?

Gifts can be made in many ways. Cash, check, credit card, stock, securities, in-kind donations of goods or services or make your gift online at www.rmhsvt.org/giveonline.

Many companies offer matching gifts - a way to double the impact of your donation. Check with your employer if a program exists.
  • How much should I give?

All gifts make a difference and your gift combined with those from parents, alumni, grandparents and friends provide substantial support for the community. Regardless of the amount, your gift will have an immediate impact on the students.

We ask that you make Rice one of your top philanthropic priorities. Regardless the level of the gift, it is an expression of your support and is greatly appreciated. Early gifts and recurring gifts through our Centennial Club, reduce mailing costs and fundraising expenses.

  • Why doesn't Rice just raise the tuition?

By making Rice financially accessible, we continue to build on our 100+ year tradition.

We believe that all students, regardless of their ability to pay, deserve to learn in a Catholic school deeply rooted in kindness, integrity, and respect while exploring their faith in a supportive, inclusive and academically challenging community.
  • Will my gift make a difference?

Your gift helps preserve, enhance, and pass on the Rice tradition to the next generation of students. It is vital to the financial health of our school.
Centennial Club members commit to making a recurring gift to the Rice-Cathedral Fund either monthly or quarterly. A recurring monthly gift is a simple, convenient way to make an impact that works for your budget. It also cuts down on paper, stamps and administrative costs, and means more of your contribution goes directly to where it’s needed most. In addition, recurring gifts ensure a steady source of support for Rice.
