One of Rice's long-term goals is to grow our tuition assistance endowment. We are grateful to Kathy and Paul Oliaro, parents of Rice alumni Scott '88 and Amy '91, for helping us on this path by establishing our newest scholarship fund in Kathy's parents' names, Richard and Marie Powers. This scholarship will specifically serve students coming to Rice from the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington. The Powers Scholarship is one of 19 tuition assistance funds currently invested at the Vermont Catholic Community Foundation totally $1.3M. To cover the bulk of our financial aid needs, we need to grow our endowment to at least $15M. Read more about what inspired the Oliaro's generous commitment HERE.
We're in critical need of host families for two Rice prep hockey players from Canada (January-June). Both of these student-athletes balance a demanding practice schedule, traveling nearly every weekend in February and March. Get the details.
