Rice is committed to investing in its students. Annual tuition covers only about 70% of the actual cost to educate a student. This year, the true cost to educate a student is $17,800, leaving a $4,900 annual gap for students that pay full tuition. The Rice Cathedral Fund exists to fill in that gap and allows us to keep tuition as low as possible.
We are grateful to the many alumni, parents, students, and businesses who generously contribute to the Rice Cathedral Fund. This fund also supports about $800,000 in annual tuition assistance to students based on need, ensuring this preeminent education is accessible. Together, we are investing in our bright future.
Please note that tuition does not fully cover the cost of a Rice education. Contributions made to the Rice-Cathedral Fund fill the gap and allow Rice to manage tuition growth.
